The Spinosaurus was a dinosaur that spent a lot of time in the water. Most big meat-eating dinosaurs lived only on land, but this one had a tail shaped like a fin that helped it swim through rivers. It had a very long snout with teeth made for catching fish. It also had a large sail on its back made of long spines covered in skin. This made it look different from almost every other predator from that time. For a long while, people thought it walked on two legs, but newer studies show it was probably built more for life in the water than for running on land.
