During the rule of the Persains/Greeks it was full of Edomites from the bordering country of Edom. John Hyracnus, The Israelite King of Judah attacked Edom in order to settle the matter in 150 BC. He won and allowed Edomites to remain in The Kingdom of Judah if they followed the law.
Edom and their leader Antipater the Edomite and his son Herod the Great from the New Testament, conquered the Kingdom of Judah by killing their King in 37BC, High priest and then the Judahite priests in 35 BC. They then added The Kingdom of Judah and Samaria to Edom and renamed it Judea. Notice they did not add Judea, they added The Former Kingdom of JUDAH. Judea is an Edomite country created in 35-37BC that became a Client State of Rome in 37BC.
The Edomites of Judea are the Jews.
Judea is the formation of a new country in 37BC by the merging of Edom. Parts of Samaria and the Kingdom of Judah into a new country - Judea.
Edom had been at war with Israel for over 400 years. Edom won by deception. Jews are Edom. Yahweh hates Edom forever. Says so right in the Old and New Testaments.
