I dicked about with an RTL-SDR dongle which is read only and I would rarely find shit operating on the air waves. I just used it to listen to FM broadcasts. Radio is such a small community now that even the superbowl channel on CB is quiet for most regions in the US. I wouldn't recommend shitting up the HAM radio bands without a license but lets not pretend that the second you transmit you're going to jail. The FCC only goes after people who are serious offenders who shit up bands on a regular basis solely because of manpower limitations, they're also going to give you a warning . Its better for Anon to actually get a license because it gives him a valuable skillset that could be handy in an emergency situation, also it lets him shout into a brand new void that nobody will ever respond from.
