2) He is probably a prize and she is making him into her "project"
She giggles at his "jokes" and will say anything to make him feel good but when they aren't together, she is either talks shit about him, glorifies him unrealistically or looks for other options
Her only driving force is proving to people that "she is the best" and having a guy *fast* was probably a necessity for her at the time. He was weird enough for people to prefer connecting with her over him.
