Jade was a major threat, a major threat she got the result she needed against. But much like her battle against Lillith, it was not a victory that came easily, and a press room is no place to recuperate. Still, some good press wouldn’t hurt, she’d have to indulge the reporters at least a little. With that thought in mind, Cassie grabs a mic and begins to speak.
“Normally I’d limit you people to one question, but I’m in a good mood right now so I’ll give you two. Make them count.”
The first question comes almost instantly. “Ms. Kade, prior to your match with Jade you mentioned her daughter in a video message to your opponent. Why did you get so personal, did you feel threatened by her?”
Cassie raises a brow. “Of course I felt threatened by her, every single woman in this tournament is a threat, but I intend to prove that I’m the biggest threat of them all. However, after what happened in my first match, I can’t afford any more slip ups if I’m gonna make that happen. If exploiting my opponents’ weakness’ can help me achieve my ambitions, I’m perfectly happy to do that.”
Cassie’s expression darkens as she continues to speak. “And make no mistake about it, family, close friends, husbands, wives… they’re weaknesses. Targets. That’s a fact I’ve become very conscious of thanks to my …life experiences outside of this industry, and I will be served well in it, by my choice to avoid collecting such weaknesses where possible. The same cant be said for Jade. Her daughter is her weakness.” Cassie grins. “I simply exploited that. As for me, well I suppose my mother left me with a familial weakness of my own, my sister. But she’s very capable of handling herself, so I wish anyone foolish enough to go after her to get to me the best of luck, they’ll need it. Next question.”
