I just finished reading Descartes' Meditations, and it did highlight some really amazing conceptualizations about what constitutes as a body or rather as to how we think about causality between different bodies and so forth. If you're interested in Hegel you should also check out Zizek and his books on ideology I never could bear to read Hegel's original manuscripts, as the language is, to me at least, quite complicated and necessarily badly written.
