If you can get into the AF and get into the job you want then do it up. Just remember not to get up from your seat or else another airman will take it and then you'll be demoted. I think it's great that you've chosen something that will actually put your brains to work doing something good. We need more people like you willing to take on the big challenges like this with a smile. You'll go really far in the AF too. One day you might end up detecting nukes from the ISS if you play your cards right. You could also end up on the space force Trump is making one day.
Don't be nervous about the testing. If you can't get into it now tell your recruiter that you want something in the same field and you can work towards it. You see that's the great thing about the military is they encourage you to work hard, get promoted and get a better job. You'll have plenty of time after your first tour (usually 4 years) to figure out if you have what it takes or what job you want.
