It's a disease of the mind, and you might as well call the disease Capitalism. In the West, we cause conflicts across the world (most notably Ukraine), in order to justify the existence of our MIC. We cause epidemics across the globe because it justifies the existence of our PIC. If there's anything our industries need, we'll create a problem that we'll provide the solution for.
There's simply no incentive for any capitalist industry to do good, as it would leave you without a job.
