For any lurkers. Start reading the Bible in the New Testament beginning with the 4 gospels to get the core message of Christ first. I'd suggest reading them out of their order though - begin with the Gospel of John which stands alone, John also only takes about 3 hours to read and has been read by every King in Europe and could be considered the foundation of Western Christendom...sadly most markers who claim to move all things European have never read it despite the 3 hours it takes. Then read the 3 synoptic gospels together (fancy way of saying Matthew Mark Luke share some content) but leaving the Gospel of Luke last so that it can be read back to back with Acts (Luke/Acts is the same manuscript same author). Then after the Book of Acts (and seeing Paul's conversion) read Romans and then the rest of the Epistles(fancy way of saying letters to early churches) in whatever order) Then Revelations. Only after the NT is finished would I start the Old Testament. I'd read Genesis (and then re-read John) then Psalms Proverbs.
