>>21013138Coco sits in unmoving silence as Cactus does the same, and stares at her. The falling crate smashing against her head seems to have had a… calming effect. But there was no telling when she would attack again, and Coco’s limbs felt heavy and sluggish to respond to her mind’s wishes, something she had come to recognise as a sign that she wouldn’t be able to retain control of her body much longer. She’d either have to release control and allow Nikki to become dominant once more, or she’d eventually lose consciousness.
Then Cactus speaks, first informing Coco that she doesn’t smell like Nikki. She grins. “Of course! I’m sure my scent is much more pleasant. You know, when Nikki fought you and blondie, I was there. Inside of her, watching. I couldn’t do anything then, but she could hear me. And sometimes she’d do the things I told her to.”
Nikki’s phone vibrates in Coco’s pocket but she ignores it. “But now, I can control our body, for a while. You want to know what I am? Well, Nikki and I met a demon a few months ago and it seems we’re related to her, so we’re a bit different to humans. Instead of having one soul in this body we have two. Nikki and me, Coco the almighty. We are identical, yet not, because while she lived freely, I was stuck inside of her, watching, but never able to act. Being imprisoned for no reason has a way of changing ones trajectory, after all.”
Coco sighs. “But at least I could talk to Nikki. And she’d talk back to me. But Cassie didn’t like that, so she beat us until Nikki stopped hearing me and I was alone in darkness. I was alone for years, every day, nothing but nothingness, because of Cassie. I will always hate her for that. And you don't like her either, do you? So yes, I want to play, I want to play with what she cares about, her club, her business, I want to destroy it and I want you to help me.”
