The Roman jewish wars of the first couple centuries hurt s lot of people. The wealthy jewish merchants lost some shekels. Who benefitted from Christianity? The Romans... a judaic spin off that is universalist, peaceful and pro Roman. The (((merchant))) class and (((Catholic))) clergy who got the financial and political rewards if the merger of state and religion.
