Also there is a good chance that all the global conflict is staged in order to socially engineer the cultures through wars and disasters, that secretly all cooperate.
Even more so when there is a secret Enemy, lets say the Breakaway Nazis in Antarctica, which are technologically superior, with them needing an excuse to put so much in the development of weapons. Now they cant tell people about this secret enemy thus put controlled opposition in place to give a fake reason for the focus on said development
I dont think its very cyclical, nor that its the same. The last one seems to be a flood around 3k BC as all the cultures report that it destroyed the last civilization. The one before was a comet/asteroid/solarflare/"Rain of Fire" (as the aztecs called it) around 12,5-12,9k years ago
