>Better off in what way? Being second class citizens in their own country? The Dutch generally kept a firm grip on the depredations of various ethnic groups culturally predisposed to violence. For example, they ended the Balinese genocide of the Sasak on Lombok in 1894. The grave of the Dutch Generla killed there is still well kept to this day due to the gratitude of the Sasak people.
It's thus safe to say bullshit like the mass killings of '65-66 either wouldn't have happened, or would have been reigned in and much more controlled were the Dutch in governance.
You talk of being third class citizens of your own country under the Dutch; but do you feel 'first class' right now? In actuality you are just the only citizens of the three classes that remain in any number, and are living in a third class country under the dictatorship and whim of violent and corrupt individuals who don't feel inclined to even pretend to implement the human rights a European nation like the Netherlands would were it still in charge.
I don't support the Ch*nese being treated above native Indonesians, however, but was unaware of that fact given the Dutch also frequently cracked down on Ch*nese depredations.

>>14769294Angl*s are subhuman. Not all colonialism is good; else wise I wouldn't be arguing against West Papua and East Timor.
Dutch colonialism is generally good with few exceptions, French and British generally bad with few exceptions.
