Mortgage applications also went down strong after the first cut, maybe because of the higher mortgages rates due to rising yields, but also to some degree because Harris vowed to give everybody 25k for his first house.

You subject yourself to being compared to others and people compare themselves to others for petty reasons, sometimes because they feel bad about themselves
