there's nothing about parentheses that makes the number outside of them be multiplied with it first
first resolve parentheses:
>36:3(8 - 6)/6 = 36:3(2)/6
then solve from left to right, since multiplication and division have equal precedence:
>36:3(2)/6 = 12(2)/6 = 24/6 = 4

you're making the mistake of multiplying 3 with 2 just because it says 3(2), but that's not how math works, only what's inside parentheses is resolved first
first you divide 36 by 3 and then you multiply 12 by 2

I was taught with Sovietsky-era books. They go deep into the concepts of why all the arithmatic opeartions work, not just how to do them or be a fast calculator. You have people around you who will tell you they did int and multi calc and DF= who don't know why or how. I honestly can't believe stuff is allowed to be taught that way. But when talking about operations you solve divisions OR multiplications left to right no matter how they're written,
then you solve addition or subtraction left to right.
