Donets Basin (Donbas/Donbass) Thread
Tons of resources lie underground in the Donbas, from high-energy thermal coals, including anthracites and meta-anthracites/semi-graphites, to some of the world's best bituminous metallurgical coals. Also, due to a later magmatic intrusion into the coal beds, which heated the coals to form anthracites and meta-anthracites, there is copper, gold, and rare earth metals like lithium in the Donets Basin.
Cheers to the Donbas, one of the world's greatest and most historic coal regions, up there with West Virginia in its storied history of mining!
