Find out how many pushups/pullups/whatever you can do in a row after a proper warm up. Then use 75% of that as a guide to start. After you can comfortable do that number, then you increase a bit. Same for seconds and static exercises like planks and stuff. Do a few every day, if you get hurt stop using that part of the body for a day or two.
And obviously, change your diet. It's easier to reduce the quantity of meals than the size, so start with that. If you eat 4 times a day change it to three and spread out. Then start removing fat slop and eating healthier stuff. Fasting for a few hours every 2 days or so also helps.
