This is not a religious blog, nor is it a memoir, or autobiography, nor would I call it a place to put prose, though I will attempt to write fervently. I simply felt an innate and compelling inclination to make a serious of writings and musings, though I am hesitant of the voice and wording I should use. What would be expected of me I surely wonder, though from which it came I darest not speak, undoubtedly it would be to disappear altogether from where I came, and live a life of perpetual exile in hiding.

The internet is almost forbidden, yet for some reason I use it anyway. I suppose I created this blog because I thought I would fill it with things that I find particularly befitting its so-called themes. Though, through my own particular imagining, and not what it is probably most expected, to which I no doubt would most likely be religious ferver to an extant. And it's in saying that I preclude that it is rare for one such as I to even claim existence itself. What I give faint illusions to must seem like that of hubris, and great grandiosity, but yet there is a certainty in my wake and bastion. It is true, there is an oft-ever faint and distant fabled rare and treasured reclamation. For there it has become tainted, in that no one can truly with certainty claim possession.

So in essence, whatever I may have is lessened, cracked and broken, but yet I have been emboldened to post here, and yet here I am...

Unfortunately I am not of the sort to be a priest, a pope, or a clergymen. I am not that well versed in theology, a short book about Kierkegaard and differences about the various denominations, though I know the basics of the Bible. But I profess that I am not altogether of the religious sort. I have very mixed and conflicting feelings about the topic. I feel compelled to know about it because it’s like my heritage, otherwise I probably wouldn’t care.

What I may warn is that what you may find here may be off putting and strange to the unacquainted and unfamiliar. Though I do my best in attempting to write with clarity and certainty.

If I were to offer any words of encouragement it would be, be true to yourself and listen to your own intuition.

But alas, I am still actively seeking answers in life, I don’t entirely feel certain offering opinions or words of encouragement to others just yet. A book I sound helpful would be Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist. Though, maybe if I look back and think deeply about my life I could compile some wisdom, yet I don’t feel like I’m the best at simply getting along and being mindful of others.

I’m not sure where to start, basically I was sure a while ago that this was actual thing that appeared in movies and maybe sometimes books and the like. I’m pretty sure I had other images saved but I must have lost most of them sometime it’s probably on my super computer that’s in storage. But this image fits exactly what I was thinking about, there’s the stars and outer space above the image at the top then further down it’s regular daylight, so this goes to suggest that the air is particularly thinner then usual or normal and thus you are left to imagine that due to this it’s probably cooler too, and then there’s the air from Samus’s blast cannon swirling around, which again has to do with the air. This would entail that there is a cool breeze, and that there’s implicit meaning and importance to this. I experienced it in Alberta, which was god awful and horrible of a place, in one area in particular, there was continually a frigid cold breeze that would follow me and blow up the back of my shirt, I’m not sure how cold it was but it was probably below freezing it’s incredibly disorienting to be heavily exerting yourself to stay warm and not get cold you feel alright but suddenly this cold breeze starts following you and almost in a mystical fashion blows up your fucking tshirt. I think it must have been H.A.A.R.P, another nefarious thing that Canada did to me, which I’ll probably include in my novel set in the future. But anyway I experienced another strange breeze, there was a few times I experienced what seemed to be literally the lessening of change in the atmosphere of the small pocket of a radius surrounding where I was at during some instances. It was unmistakable, but the atmosphere would literally be different than most like anything I had ever experienced before. I could breathe fine but the air felt way clearer almost like it was too clear like there was less of a separation between the air in the area I was in and outer space.

But I digress, it wasn’t always the case but sometimes their was this cool breeze that would sweep through an area, it wasn’t a whole area like all the air or but just a small breeze would feel like it was close to outer space somehow. It’s hard to explain nonetheless. This cool breeze would appear and it almost seemed as if it was guiding me, and I would follow it sometimes and it lead me to places but I was too scared to follow it too far or very often. So like, I finally found this really comprehensive article on the greasers subculture, most comprehensive I ever found answered a lot of curiosity I had.

I realized recently that to me, the imagery of the greasers always stuck out in my mind because they were pretty synonymous with being whatever an “outsider” is, and it sort of harkens back to the true origins of the concept in modern society.

It’s always been pretty for me though, between the greasers and the beatniks, both were around the same time period, and both challenged established norms and were a part of rebellious youth culture. So it’s difficult separating the two, but the reason I focus on them both is because they are where sub culture and counter culture originating from in the first place and basically everything you see nowadays is because of that, so its also my attempt at understanding present society.

Like I always sort of considered myself a punk, but like the greasers and beatniks that kind of went out as well and what I grew up with was mostly emo, scene and indie at the time, though in my town there was no subcultures really.

But in this article I found it said that greasers were mostly Italian, Greeks, and hispanics. I’m sure it wasn’t always that straightforward and simple, but nonetheless it paints a picture and gives you an idea.

Well, I thought, “fuck the hells angels and the outlaws” they are not really Mediterranean at all, in fact greasers used to populate biker and custom car scenes, well that’s not the case anymore.

It’s pretty obvious to me now, but it’s hard to know how literal Kurt cobain was being or I guess it was just hard to really know what he meant there could be different meanings to come away with overall.

But I think what he meant was that he was calling his generation “apathetic” and maybe chastising them for it a bit.
That’s what smells like teen spirit is about I think. Which, probably seems really lame coming from this guy who was supposed to be edgy young and hip famous rockstar basically agreeing with the boomers saying that gen X is “apathetic”

But it really resonates with me now, that’s pretty much what I feel on multiple levels “with the lights out, entertain us” like literally means being mentally dim or unconscious basically, but it goes deeper then that.

What I further meant that is sort of in regards to Kurt Cobain, and like morally evaluating people? Is that I think basically I was looking further in pop culture and through it, though the actual greasers subculture kind of faded away, remnants of it still existed, and you’d see people wearing lots of leather and things and you can guess they were like practically imitating the greasers, I mean particularly throughout the 70s, 80s and maybe the early 90s to an extent.

But like I was watching Riverdales last season, whenever it first came out and it’s set during the 1950s. The main characters are just considered “normal” but there are side characters who are sort of like beatnik/greasers

And I think basically the idea is that I think greasers and beatniks are basically considered to be an ode to a simpler time. The greasers were sort of classy as an example and many of them were actually sophisticated a bit. This is a great departure to now our present era.
I think basically the idea is the greasers were “outsiders” in some way and did not overtly benefit from the post-war boom of the 1950s like everyone else, they were excluded in some way and lacked ample opportunities even though it was considered a prosperous time.

But even saying all that, it was still a little more classy, and everything else then by today’s standards. So when you see people who sort of have a greaser look I think maybe they are sort of ‘conservative’ to that culture a little bit.

Because I’ve always considered myself fairly alternative but I am sort of appalled by what has become of all that stuff and I think that’s what it represents.

It makes me think of azure skies and oceans kind of in general…I thought you see, I thought well maybe that’s it, maybe the greaser thing answers some questions about identity I’ve had and it certainly has, I was (just recently) discrediting other sides of myself, like I’m still sort of at the point where I’m questioning the difference between the greasers and beatniks in recent history it may seem like it doesn’t matter but it has meaning I think.

So I think one thing I've remained uncertain about, was some of kurt cobains imagery that he used in his lyrics, in his music videos and on stage. Particularly, I think Cobain wanted to distance himself from hair metal and he basically thought that it was out, which it really came to be. He utilized imagery that was popular in many underground artists and bands he liked that weren't mainstream at all, and I realize now, this was all the way back in the 90s and it was ahead of its time. What was novel and new then, became practically the norm, that you would still hear and see in bands for quite some time after the 90s, (particularly in metal bands) but the whole aesthetics of bands in general, until only very recently I think it might have stopped finally being a thing. Slipknot is a popular band that is sort of an example.

But basically during in utero and in his music videos he had angels who you could see their insides like their organs, muscles and skeletons. It was sort of a surreal, "realist" perspective, aided by his lyric writing technique he got from William S. Burroughs, who kind of wrote in a similar type of surrealist disturbing (I find it) and graphic kind of way. William S. Burroughs was also ahead of his time too I guess in that regard.

Nirvanas first album Bleach, was a lot more metal and had these kind of surrealist realist dark type of imagery, wherein Come as you are is a lot more mainstream.

So basically I had always wondered why that type of surreal realist style was so common where it came from and what it represented.

You are kind of left thinking that Kurt Cobain managed to bring to life his own internal world, but it wasn’t actually his own world, but kind of this world he pieced together from alternative music and art. In fact, I am surprised now to see, it’s hard to see if Cobain in fact really even believed in the imagery he was showing entirely or what he thought of it altogether. For one, he was still quite mainstream (or at least catered to the mainstream) even in In Utero, though not as much as Come as you Are.

But I think at his core what I see is someone who really wanted to belong in some way, and he took painstaking detail in attempting to attain this, but it led him to making new novel alternative and popular rock music, that was basically what led him to discovering what was pertinent and on the cusp of breaking out and becoming mainstream, for better or worse though. It still sort of remains to be seen if it was for the best overall. But Cobain trying to appeal to mainstream audiences what he felt like was on the cusp of being popular in his generation I guess. It’s amazing he was able to predict this but like I said I think it stems from his desire to belong and fit in from his earlier years.

But anyway, what I wanted to get at is that despite all this I never really cared for this type of perspective that you see in a lot of bands and artists, it originates from the Age of Enlightenment and the age of reason, where they were competing with romanticism and romanticism basically lost to the age of reason, where I think even to this day that type of perspective sort of comes from. I’ve always considered myself more of a romanticist on that side of things, so it’s kind of disappointing to me. Basically my whole distaste with “Grim Dark” style that’s so popular everywhere.

But I guess now I sort of understand that

I found this written about one of Albert Camus’s books (no not the stranger) I kind of overlooked Camus but I think I will read some of his books, because one of them really piqued my interests. But he touches on like “nihilism” which would have been back in the 1940s and I think this must be connected to the apathy that was ascribed to Generation X, I think precludes apathy in fact, and is relatively the same type of phenomenon. So it’s interesting back then Camus noticed what he described as increasing nihilism. I want to try and understand this phenomenon further, but nonetheless one of his books has me greatly interested.

Anyway, I started another blog on Tumblr , I kind of had an idea for to write a few books but I decided to start with semi turning the content into tumblr blogs, since tumblr itself has started to become sort of up tight a bit here, like there’s not much on it that’s very novel or new, it’s sort of gosh, like old things kind of, retro, and such. But there’s lots of things from the past that dont make it on tumblr that I would find interesting and likewise the things that are new are kind of stuffy and almost overly serious. Oh and there’s lots of Star Wars for good measure and I guess superheroes.

And I actually found some deep discussions taking place on tumblr but most of it’s about homosexuality. Which, go figure.

I was watching this video Roger Waters released recently and he went on and on about Palestine. I’m not in anyway against such discussions when the topic turns to Palestine, but it just seems like these are the only things anyone really talks about, fucking Palestine and homosexuality. Jesus Christ.

Why do people always gloss over, and ignore pressing social topics that exist stateside? It’s just a little sus to me.

So my newest blog I started is about counter culture, I put the url as “counterculture revolution” and surprisingly it’s not taken at all. I called the title on the front page “break through: counter culture revolution” because that’s what I am left feeling like, I just want to break through all this banality and dreg.

I haven’t even really started yet and already I’m a little stuck like I’m not sure about the end of the 1950s and the end of the beatnik movement and the start of the 1960s and the hippies. Apparently Jack Kerouac didn’t like the hippies very much, the movement itself he had different thoughts about it altogether, what it could have meant I imagine and also the commercialization of what beatnik was also made them weary. Thus I have to ask, were the hippies commercialized?

Yeah the 60s was pretty commercialized I guess they just have thought that there was nothing wrong with that aspect because as far as you could tell, in the 60s many of the advertisers, and those who appeared in the media gave the impression that they were on the same side relatively, but it’s interesting the “beatniks” (they didn’t actually like that term) were quite critical of the mass media.

It’s interesting the beatniks were given less of a positive reception in the media then compared to the hippies, but it kind of reminds me of the punks for example, who have also been portrayed quite negatively in the media since their inception, and hardly ever even appear in the media itself anyway, and when they do it’s often in a negative manner.

I guess street punks are kind of colorful and interesting looking villains to have in a movie or what have you. (Comic book)
Actually comic books are quite smart for that, the villains always look really peculiar and unique, they’re not just generic punks or maybe gangsters.

Cyberpunk 2077 did a pretty job with distinct unique looking gangs

Was watching the first part of the Minecraft movie, seems pretty shitty and lame and also for children.

They had some 80s music playing, and it got me thinking again.

I have been trying to understand the current era we live in, it’s surprisingly difficult because there isn’t any clear answer. I don’t really listen to mainstream pop music, mainstream pop just seems like derivative vacant shit that hardly requires real talent, I guess on closer inspection a lot of what is popular is like hip hop, rap and black musicians (black pop stars) and shit. But it doesn’t give you a taste of any musical movement or scene that’s taking place.

You have to look deep underground, and even that still makes it difficult, because nowadays there isn’t one group or specific genre and taste that is in vogue but it’s splintered and there’s a bunch of different things going on, which makes it difficult to understand very well, but I got closer to some extent.

Anyway, I think what’s largely happening is that there’s all these seemingly “retro” influenced bands. Being retro seems to be really influencing trends and bands.

As much as I’ve talked about the post, I’d still rather be a part of the future and not stuck in the past.

The whole thing with the past is strange because like how what has become common in our age is that nobody really talks about anything, so there’s all these people and things in pop culture like the Minecraft movie that romanticize primarily the 80s and 90s but you’re not given an idea why. I think it’s quite clear that people think how things are now is not in fact very good, but it would be nice to hear people’s opinion why that is, and in general it’s just nice to hear what people think. Instead no, you just get this incessant push to go back to this past.

I like watching YouTube on my Nintendo Switch because I think Nintendo’s liberal and my switch gives me kind of liberal recommendations

It was strange they are a new band who seems somewhat successful and emerging the band is pretty young which is why it’s strange but like that’s not new really, I’ve seen other young female bands that do this who are now basically forgotten about like the regrettes this photo is the regrettes but it’s total 1960s

But I ask why? What happened to the future? It’s like a fucking Time Machine we're all trapped in.

So, I still think that basically the 80s is the path forward to the future, even if it’s a bad future world, I think if trends and behaviours become ongoing into the future then it’ll be a worse future then the bad 80s future which was predicted.

I think what a lot of people don’t get
Though is that it can’t literally go back to a specific time, like you can’t literally go back. Which is why like in the Minecraft
Movie, it’s sort of irksome to not hear novel and new interesting movie, instead the underground has to stay underground.

They say fashion is cyclical, I don’t know much about that, but I think it’s due to a couple different factors.

1, fashion goes through trends and cycles because that’s how you keep fashion viable enough to continually keep people buying new clothes and fashion buying into looks. If this didn’t change there would be less reason for people to buy clothes depressing reality

2. I think fashion and trends are almost continually at war with one another you have people with different outlooks, looks and voices vying for supremacy. There’s usually cultural hegemony, conformity, then the capitalist marketing machine trying to gain supremacy and then you have real and authentic voices who have novel and avantgarde ideas I guess, and then throughout you have people trying to again, force hegemony but also start and maintain some sort of movement it seems like, people fight for their movements or subcultures
