-it was a political party and had nothing to do with the army except that they were the ones in the government
-refering to them as just Germans sounds more normal and also respectful and childfriendly when brought up as a historical topic. You also don't call the russians from ww2 commies but just russians
-calling them Germans seems like a backhanded trick to hide the past. Germany has to take responsibility, but in a less pathetic and sneaky way than now.
