>>3803900In Shiny Colors, you have three ways of producing your idols, W.I.N.G, Thanks Flapping Day and G.R.A.D.
In each of these modes, there's commus or event stories that shows more about an idol you're producing.
G.R.A.D. focuses on an the graduation of an idol being recognized as an idol and heavily place them to debut as a solo idol to prove their worth.
Chiyuki worked in a textiles shop before becoming an idol. Chiyuki's story in G.R.A.D. emphasises on Chiyuki looking at auctions, thus is surprised by handmade merchandise selling very well.
However when Chiyuki herself sold the handbag on the marketplace, the maximum people bid on it was 1 yen, implying that Chiyuki herself didn't have any value because 1 yen is amount to nothing at all. This led to Chiyuki to decide whether abandoning her former occupation is worth being an idol or not and since the role of the producer is to set the idol on the right path, so the producer helps Chiyuki out of the situation in the end. But if producer wasn't there to help her, things could have been bad for Chiyuki, as she would go back to working in textiles shop instead.
I know they would try to make up writing scenarios where they would put the characters in difficult situations so they can develop their own character, but Chiyuki's version is the worst one in my opinion.
Contrast that with Tenka's story of being treated as the underdog and other competing idols calling Tenka to give up if they she can't meet up with their standards. Tenka knows everyone is able to support her and despite how fiercely competitive her environment is, she believes that giving her all and giving everything a chance is better than giving up completely, which Tenka used to be when she started out as an idol. Tenka got treated by the writers way more better than Chiyuki because she is fairly popular within the Shiny Colors community, but I really wish they didn't treat her friend Chiyuki harshly either.
