Rei 3 is as Rei as 2.
She comes back probably with some memory lost, or not. But i guess she's just depressed more than normal because her existential question became a hot topic again.

But well that's an external factor changing her mood and behaviour.
Did anything change inside Rei? Inside her character?
I don't see it, I'm not sure.
I guess that Rei3 was THE SAME as Rei 2 but she really was too afraid to admit it.
