There's a discussion going on in the music world revolving around a guy that made an AI trained on Kanye's vocals, and made a short clip of an original song where he used AI Kanye's voice to make it sound like it was a new Kanye track. And the question I'm asking is, if this guy were to produce an album using this AI for all of the vocal tracks, would he have to credit Kanye because he's using Kanye's voice, or does he get to say the AI is just a derivative of Kanye because it had to be trained to copy him?
There's lots of talented ghost writers and producers in the music industry right now. Two of the top music groups in Japan right now are former vocaloid artists. It's not unrealistic to say someone using AI vocals could top charts over the people they trained the AI voice on.
