Truth is, I'm just not that talented. This was my first iteration. Hard to be consistent.
I'll see if I can make her face rounder when I do future non mspaint detailed drawings.

I don't use much reference, so there is a lot of variation

On the cartoon board there is a namefag who is obsessed with pa, he's also a decent artist too. I admire his delightful autism, he draws so much of her. He also knows all pa lore concerning her origins. Sadly the thread he just had up died. He lives for other artists to draw her. >>>/co/153311781

I don't visit /ic/ often so I am unaware of any cross board drama. But try not to judge the negative actions of a few for representing an entire board, as you might deny yourself some positive experiences. I would advise to avoid the main draw thread there and stick to series/character focused threads only.
If you happen to draw her I'll keep an eye out and post it over there if I happen to see a pa thread (unless you don't want that). May I ask what thread(s) you are on, on /ic?/

Yup, on top of being a fenatic, he manages to draw one of the most on model PA's I've ever seen, he really captures the style.
You can find plenty of his threads if you search his name and 'op post' in Desuarchive in the /co/ area. He also likes the British cartoon Penny Crayon, which also features a slim, glasses wearing lead.

I'm grabbing my lockpicking it.
In this case, wouldn't it have been a bit better to just do a larger third panel instead of sticking to the standard four? Same goes for strip 14 which would have been presented as one large picture.

I'd argue at least half of these comics (including the ones I'm working on now) would benefit from more/different panels, and text.
But I'm in too deep, and Im too stubborn to change from the handicap I've set for myself.

I have been contemplating doing a one shot though, or longer format and not a 1pixel brush.

We will see. I've got alot of irons in the fire

Haha, boy, do I ever know this feel. It sucks to fight against your own brain.
There is an appeal to both ever changing panels and keeping it simple with the same ones, forcing you to work within the four walls you've created.
I think for panel three, it would make more sense for her pupils to be inward (cross-eyed) since she is trying to focus on the insect, right?

Not quite what I was going for.

She's dazed, hence the drooling mouth, because I was kinda going for those parasitic butterflys. Hence the skull, and his proboscis going in between her eyes.
And his nutsack.

However, I won't put it past myself that I am a dumbass, and possibly everyone else got it 'cept for me. Sometimes I feel like I have visual dyslexia.
While I know you are keeping it simple with the style, there are times where I think color would help tell things apart. However if you want to keep it back and white, perhaps some shading/screentones/crosshatching/a few extra lines here and there might help convey settings, textures and face expressions.

Today I'm working on some Lydias from Beetlejuice, but I don't have a place to post her, and I don't really intend to start posting on /co/, so probably just socials.

Good taste. I rewatched some episodes of the cartoon a few years ago, I think it held up very well. Was never a fan of the real life movies though. But perhaps I should give them a second chance.

Your resistance to the cartoon board is puzzling considering some of the characters you draw and that you are a cartoonist. You'd fit in well I think. But I suppose you have your reasons.

Well, a thread can last months or years on this board if you remember to bump it and are generally posting to it slowly. You can have a temporary home here, at least, though there are generally less eyeballs on this board.

It has high and low points of activity. Though problems with spammers keep it lowish.

There's a good reason for that.
I don't want to derail your thread with all the deets, but in the most basic compressed form:
>/vg/ drawthread sucks because of spammer a who has been at it for many years causing problems
>spammer a is on most boards drawthreads, and is also on /co/s
>/co/s drawthread also has spammer b, who has also been at it for many years, and has previously been on others boards drawthreads, causing problems
>spammer a and b hate each others guts in a long standing autistic feud between them that's traveled across drawthreads for over 5-6 years, both are cut of the same cloth in how they act and spam, and when they are both in a drawthread, it suffers massively
Sometimes I think artists can put blinders on to the drama and just draw what they like in a general drawthread, but at the same time I understand going "fuck this" and just leaving because a previously nice place has been ruined for the long term. It's far easier to just venture into character/series focused threads and draw there, and/or start your own thread for characters/series you like and dump art or take reqs that way.
