imagine being smug about having a vintage bike, you have your head up your ass, for example even most people who aren't car enthusiasts think that modern sports cars look cool but most people don't give a shit about classic cars, you live in your own world where there's something cool about some basic ass skinny tubes welded together which performs far worse in every aspect than a modern bike, you're the bike nerd equivalent of people who glorify and tune these old ass volvos, most people who aren't rednecks who grew up with them think they're pieces of shit which they are, have some self awareness goddamn, yeah you could cherrypick some cringe modern bike designs but most current models don't have overdone paint/decal schemes and can be tastefully built with the right wheels etc
