>>1722000The problem with Jacobs is that she has some solutions to legitimate problems with cities and planning but it comes down often to aesthetics (which is often the core complaint of NIMBYs) and is devoid of considering the consequences of what happens when you create cities so valuable it drives up the cost where majority of the people who made places like Lower Manhattan "pleasant to live in" can't afford to live there unless they get a new job in tech or finance.
