>>1220941It's not difficult to cut the steerer, but do get a correctly sized cutting guide and you need a 32 tpi saw blade, regular metal saws are too coarse for carbon. Pipe cutters are very easy to use but can't be used with a carbon steerer. If you want to lower the stem any further from that, I heavily do recommend you to cut the steerer also, otherwise the compression plug will be too far from the stem and there's a risk of damaging the steerer with the stem bolts.
