In Spain I stayed in a one-way facing apartment wall, you accessed your unit from the back of the building stairwell, in the front there was a large shaded turf, it was comfy waking up to the sun and the beach peeking through the sole window. Small units, but cheap, the rent was 300 euro with everything taken care of utilities wise. I don't agree with a lot of European urbanism outside of the Mediterranean though. Paris was fucking ugly (I did not see any Afghanis)
