Insurgentes roundabout in Mexico City
one of my fave transit hubs ever. the inner lane is BRT exclusive, with roofed stations. the whole middle section is burrowed and slightly underground, with pedestrian streets underneath the roads connecting the surrounding neighborhoods into the plaza within. the area has shops in the side and the plaza is a completely walkable public area with fountains and seating areas. and of course, the most important section, which is the subway station. walking out of the metro stairs unto the plaza gives a nice sense of enclosure, and watching the metrobus above surround the whole mall feels almost like watching a monorail.
fun fact: this roundabout was used in the film Total Recall as a futuristic subway station.
