I want a portable layout that I can build in roughly a months time or so, so that I have something to run trains on and bring around when I don't have room for a permanent layout. I've thought about something like a minories, but thinking about it I'm just not sure that it would be so enjoyable. But I really can't think of a better plan to fill a similar sized space. Ideally I want something that consisted of a terminus station with some kind of intermediate freight drop off areas, but I don't see how I could fit it on a 1 x 7 or 1 x 8 board without sacrificing vital components of this basic design. Should I just go for something different altogether?
