Arrived at Puigcerdà, near the spanish-french border.
Usually, all trains that leave from the Estación de Francia station run south, stopping (or passing) Passeig de Gràcia and then Sants main station. We went north, onto the Puigcerdà line. This meant using not one but two branches which are never used in commercial service: From Estación de Francia to Clot-Aragó station, and from there to Montcada-Bifurcació. This also meant cutting right across the path of two commuter lines. That obviously slowed us down, since the commuter trains got priority, but it would have been extremely faggy to start from any other station.
