>>1407210>It made me realize just how on rails the default FSX aircraft really are."The goal of flight simulation is to achieve invariant compliance = realism. Realism is nothing more than learning and then demonstrating the skill to comply with the real procedures. Realistic flight dynamics do not deliver realism. They only unlock the possibility. It is the consumer who has to learn what constitutes compliance and then practice. Practice, practice until they can demonstrate compliance.."
You've attempted to do so in this video here
>>1408295 and this elevates your experience SUBSTANTIALLY above those who think procedures and compliance are "boring" and "stupid"
There are a great many things to say about your video (thank you for posting it btw) but I shall only give 2 bits of advice.
Traffic Pattern/Circuit procedures are conducted under VFR, thus the importance of Visual Flight. MSFS has already taught you bad habits... which are extremely common for us simmers. You spend too much time looking inside the cockpit at the instruments. Consider how silly it would be to have a pilot sitting within a cockpit with large windows flying near the airport while his head is crooked down only looking directly ahead... over the nose.. or else at the instruments.
You never looked for other traffic, you had great difficulty controlling your pattern because you never turned your head and looked at it! LOL.
The general recommendation is to spend 8 seconds looking outside for every 2 you spend looking inside. Keep your head on a swivel... don't just look ahead. The aircraft you're following isn't always directly ahead. The runway wasn't ahead for most of the flight.
My next piece of advice. Notice in the image it says "RP 26 31" RP=Right Pattern which means you were supposed to make turns to the right, not left. For some reason your airport manager doesn't want airplanes flying to the south of the airport.. which you did.
Keep practicing anon, nice job.
