What about a DC electric pump?
What about the APU?
What about the Ram Air Turbine?
All of those are acceptable sources of power for the hydraulic systems. The picture you posted demonstrates what flight control surfaces are powered by what system, but that isn't any different from any large commercial jet. Every large jet uses the engines as the primary source of hydraulic power for all redundant systems. They can also be powered by other systems using a power transfer unit (PTU), which only transfers hydraulic power, not fluid, which is important. The backup system (yellow in this case) can be powered by the electric pump, a hand pump, or the RAT, providing hydraulic pressure for most ailerons, rudder, elevator, and the gear. See pic related.
Redundancy isn't just an A380 thing, it is an industry-wide standard with systems.
