a) no rack to put on your luggage, food & drink
heavy backpack will wear you out and make your back sweaty
b) no fenders to protect your clothing
c) aggresive riding position means you will have to wear specialized cycling clothing, which you will have to undo again on arrival.
pic related is a proper bike. Why?
24'' in wheels are a perfect in between too small (20") and too big (28")
Bike is foldable if you need to carry it in public transport. Has a rack for panniers that you can use to throw in some groceries. Comfy upright seating position on a big leather saddle will increase endurance. Fenders and enclosed drivetrain mean little maintenance. Strong steel frame wil last decades. Also equipped with a dynamo in the front for lights when your batteries die out. Bike is unobtrusive and won't get stolen. 3 speed internal geared hub is all you need. A true workhorse. Best thing of all they are darn cheap. I bought mine for $10 and it came with new CST tires.
Stop focusing on cool looks and start focusing on utility. Trust me, you will cycle way more that way.
