>>1123836I live in Vancouver and I deliver food for DoorDash occasionally. You can make some money on the side, but I absolutely do not recommend to think of it as a full-time job.
Once I manage to make CAD 30 per hour, but it has also happened that I made $0 for 55 minutes, because there were no orders.
If you play it smart, you can make some money working only a few hours per day. However, even if you are willing to work more, there might simply not be demand, and you will just stare at your phone while the app says "waiting for orders".
Additionally, the app is ridiculously unstable and it can affect you deeply. Yesterday, two orders arrived at the same time (you have 2 minutes to confirm then, or you are penalized) and the app crashed. It took me a long time to make it work again and it now says that I have rejected two offers. If my approval rate goes below a threshold, I can't work for them anymore and this was out of my control. Also, here in Vancouver, there are a grand total of 2 or 3 people working at their office. It's ludicrous. You can see they give 0 fucks about couriers and the company in general. And there's no tech support and if anything goes wrong, you just have to suck it up.
Maybe it's different for other companies but, so far, I can only consider it as a fun way to make a few extra bucks to buy something stupid that I want (new tyres, an espresso machine, some games &ct.)
