Help me figure out what kind of bitch I am being. This is a slow enough board and most of you will undoubtedly recognize what I'm telling you. Apologies if it's become pedantic.
>There exists a high end local bike shop that's been around forever and I've always wanted a bike from.
https://internationalprobikeshop.com/
>Save up my pennies one year after I start making decent money and finally buy a bike from them.
>Ciocc steel retro frame, Campy Veloce group, Xero wheels for $1,500.
>Veloce is supposed to be equivalent to 105 and the frame is 1 size too big (60cm instead of 58cm), he wants to clear the frame out and $1,500 seems like he's making me a good deal?
>Start riding and every time I put power to the rear wheel it pulls out of the horizontal drop out
>turns out, Xero's generic quick release isn't strong enough for horizontal drop outs
>Pay the bike store another $100 for DT Swiss skewers (He says that's his cost.)
>Chain keeps dropping off when shifting to the small ring up front, even after multiple adjustments
>He has me buy an aluminum bit to stop it from happening, charges me retail, $17 and says pros use them so it's cool.
>After a few months of riding wheels go out of true
>true them myself which lasts rest of season
>wheels go out of true again. So I have them professionally trued at another reputable shop
>The guy at that shop tells me spoke count is too low for me and wheels look bad, they'll only last another year
>ride 1 more year and wheels break a spoke and are trash
>pay $300 to order another set, this time Campagnolo Calima
https://365cycles.com/index.php/catalogsearch/result/?q=calima
>Go to put them on and frame and while wiping bike down see frame is cracked.
