http://www.belowthecapital.org/dctrans/>>1331302The reason they aren't used is because they're difficult to maintain even in the best of circumstances and if stepped on there is a danger of a frayed wire shocking somebody on the surface, especially during the rain. So they're more dangerous and they're difficult to use. That being said, I wonder if they'd be more efficient than the recent trend of meme-tier battery accumulator streetcars that a few cities have bought into, because somehow a single wire down a street is worse than the endless strip malls, gang graffiti, and 'vibrant' urban decay that makes up the rest of the neighborhood.
