Far more compact structure gauge, just minimally exceeding the vehicle loading gauge.. trolleybuses would need a lot more to be able to pass at speed.. sure, guided way trolleybuses can technically have smaller gauge as well, but the guided way infrastructure cost is at least equal to a tram track, and therefore the one major advantage is lost
