Rat anon here.
Update: With the warm-up comes increased activity. Had one of the traps deactivated and the bait eaten. As seen in the picture, the holding rod(?) can move too far into the yellow tab. If it does and slips to to the right side it becomes stuck, the tab can become fully depressed and the trap not trip. Well, this happened. I had the bait tab set high and the bait towards the end of the tab. Mistakes of using a new trap on my part. I'm guessing the rat was sniffing the bait and nosed the tab upwards, deactivating the trap. I have since rebaited the traps and have repositioned the bait to the back of the tab. The tab is set only about 1/4 inch off the trap. It is super sensitive now with little chance of getting stuck.
Will update any happenings.
