However, it is more likely to have electric connections on a site, maybe water connections, probably a small shop (fried crap, cold drinks, etc), maybe a small grocery corner, maybe a restaurant, and certainly flush toilets and warm(ish) shower rooms. Though qualities and standards vary.
I'm Canadian and living in Yüróp for 10 years. I was kinda stunned and disappointed the first time I went camping here. Wife and I were the only tent in a sea of camper vans with satellite dishes, roll-out astroturf and coolers of beer. Most of the "campers" looked like they'd die of heart attacks before they could hike 10km uphill. At least it was in a foresty area and was easy to get into the hills for some proper /out/. Most of the time, we were fairly alone.
