It was always a natural process. However, because of human activity and advancements we rapidly sped up that natural process at an unnatural rate.
Yes, there was a time once when these changes could have be reversible. Again, because of how far the human race has developed and built/grew, the effects of global warming are now irreversible. No one can fix this, unless 5 billion of us left earth and the remaining inhabitants stopped using cars, fuels, electricity, mining etc.
Now, all global warming is used for is to make money by striking fear into the hearts of the general population who are too lazy to educate themselves to know the truth.
