I'd like to get these guys right here. Cabela's Speed Hunter Boa hunting boots. The system is pretty nifty. It's airplane-grade cable and a ratchet system that cinches the boot up nicely and they feel super comfy. Pop the dial and they loosen up quickly for wading across rivers and such.
BUT... as nifty and comfy as they are, I just can't put my trust in them. If one of those ratchets blows you're fucked. It's not like a regular boot where you can just replace the lace with some cordage or knot the lace up to jury-rig something until you get home. Nope. If those puppies fail you're just flopping around or taping it down with duct tape. If they put in some eyelets and such for backup lacing I might get them. Until then, it's an odd mix of want and do not want.
