4. I think it was around 5 grand in all, but weed/booze/hostel stays/food affect this for everybody.
5. If you don't use it everyday, you don't need to carry it. (aside from a small first aid kit). Would probably bring a kindle instead of paperback next hike. I would also like a steel mesh sack for food safety from pesky rodents. I wish I had had my ultralight quilt with a liner the whole time instead of a heavy down bag in the beginning and end.
