The Woodsman's Pal is really best used for removing vegetation at ground level rather than at thigh level like a regular machete.
That is the reason that the head is so heavy and blunt, it is meant to be swung into the dirt, cutting at ground level.
They work really well for this but will not perform well when used as a machete.
They where initially designed for clearing brush for airstrips in the south pacific during WW2.
