Guys, please help me. I planted a Red Haven semidwarf peach tree a few months ago and planted it. It's skinnier and smaller than I thought it would be, but it's still alive so I must be doing something right. Today I went out there to throw some more mulch around it, and decided to take care of some weeds/grass/etc before I did.
I yanked this big weed out of the ground but I'm pretty sure it was attached to the fucking tree. I don't know how this is even possible, but it seemed to be, like, a second small tree growing out of the ground. I dug up a little bit and wasn't really able to determine if was attached to the tree or not, so I cut it with some scissors to make a clean break and then buried it. Then I continued with my mulching job.
Have I just completely ruined my tree? Why would it be putting out a completely new trunk instead of branches? Am I losing my fucking mind? Help please, I'm new at this
