This is big because constant horse maintenance sucks to do and is expensive. I worked on a family cattle ranch athat also did horse boarding. We made the switch because a few old bikes and atvs were easier and cheaper to maintain.
Horse ranching sucks big dick and you are going to be sore for a long time if you just start riding.

Honestly wheat is too specialized for my taste. You need to cut it down to harvest like regular grass the you need to then you need to get the grain and only after that you grind it to flour.
Compare this to root vegetables that you simply pull up and wash and their ready to cook.
Also wheat costs like 19 cent per ton currently. It will never be economic for small scale production. The time and effort one would have to invest there would be much better served by buying flour you need and growing other stuff instead.

Just my opinion though.
