>>2403660>>2403729Then, there is the fact as you said, they are shallow root plants. It means their roots wont go deep past the shitty dirt, into the actual soil of the land we have.
All the action happening is mostly at the top of the dirt.
That's 2.
Then the soil, on top of the bag is exposed. So even if there was any life in that dirt, which there isn't the sun would be sure to nuke it.
That's 3.
The tarp is also closed entirely around the perimeter with rocks. So there is no airflow getting into the thing. Which both means higher ambient temps further cooking things.
That's 4.
But also that the weak plants would be more susceptible to diseases.
That's 5.
But as if putting weak plants from a nursery into dead dirt and covering them win a blanket to cook them wasn't enough.
I literally tried to save some of them, by providing airflow without the tarp and straw to cover up the fucking exposed soil around them so the bloody things don't dry up as fucking fast. Only to find out that they would come around, see what I did and pull off the straw around the plant because they think the soil around the plant needs to be exposed to the sun.....to..... "breathe".
That's 6.
But then as the final straw....heh... They would take a small metal rake and rake the dirt around the plant to "airiate it". Because "oh I'v been pouring buckets worth of water on it, the soil is compacted it needs help to breathe.
So we have a weak plant, planted into dead soil, that has no support, is being cooked form the sun, in a closed off environment with no airflow to cool it, exposed soil for maximum water loss, shallow roots, and in the final spit to god to kill it off for good they decide to RAPE the fucking dirt it's planted in and desperately trying to develop root systems to suck up some dirt to give it some more "air". Pic related, top right.
That's 7.
And naturally lot of the plants are dying off. Especially the ones that are getting "help" from them.
