If mountain lion attacks you, theyre gunna do it from behind or above, you wont even see it coming no matter how much whistling you do
You just have to realize that its all in gods hands (not trolling, call it fate instead of god if you want, i dont care) but still the chances of you being attacked are very low.
If you spend your whole time /out/ worrying about getting killed, its not really fun, just go with the flow man.
