Something which caught me out a little was water. I thought that since I was going past people houses I would be able to beg for water if I got low, or go to a shop. Nope, french people turned me away and shops charged stupid amounts for a bottle of water.
However, if you can be bothered to ride there I strongly recommend the Nordic countries for riding. If you go in summer then the roads are mostly snow free, views are fantastic and the people are really friendly. Pic is my bike
