On my way to a waterfall today with my gf I spoke to a flagger about his job. He says it took one day and one class to get certified open book test and about 500 bucks he had to spend on gear like the vest, now he travels all around OR, ID, Montana, and WA working 5 days a week 10-12 hour days getting paid 50 an hour. The crazy part was he said after work he sleeps in his truck in random places all over to avoid paying motel
prices.im not sure about taxes but that means dude gets near 6 figures for standing around in nature and talking into a walkie. 100 an hour on holidays like yesterday. Basically my gf thinks I should do it but I'm a little scared to make my entire life about this but I've worked roughly min wage jobs for 12 years now and I think it could change my life so I have a future. Anyone know anything about this?
