need to continue reading this. it's really good, even if you never cared about mount everest like me or the actual author of the book (who also wrote into the wild and was a profilic journalist for outside magazine). the premise is that jon krakauer gets the chance to report on mount everest tourism in the early 2000s, i think, and decides to do it, regardless of what he thinks of it. super interesting book on the commercialisation of mt everest and reaching the summit.
